Bicycle Repairman – Monty Python’s Flying Circus

And now for something completely different…

Like many men of a certain age I was a boy of a certain age during the heyday of Monty Python’s Flying Circus so, yes, I can recite most of the Dead Parrott sketch or sing “I’m A Lumberjack And I’m OK” from memory. But I was surprised to realize this particular sketch had slipped through the steel vault of my memories of being 12 years old!

Maybe because it’s not really one of Monty Python’s best. It’s silly, like they all are and will pull a laugh or two out of you, like they all do. But it’s not transcendent in the way that the best Python sketches were. But hey, it’s about bikes and the superheroes who repair them so I think it’s worthy.
