This one has a whole bunch of WTF elements in one video. First of all, he’s on a recumbent mountain bike, surely one of the weirder beasts in the cycling menagerie. Then there’s the fact that he’s winter trail riding with studded tires, putting him even more squarely in the 0.5 percentile. To really seal the deal though, he’s out riding at the beginning of the social isolation period around COVID-19 here in Ontario, which means he really is alone, literally and figuratively. As I write this, Conservation Areas all over the province are closing to hikers and cyclists, mainly over concerns of crowded parking lots. Tomorrow, the woods may be just for the wildlife again—and by wild, I don’t mean recumbent mountain bikers.
