Well this is sweet and the OK Go-style ending is nicely done but it’s really just a little PR moment for Team Sky, not to mention Pinarello and Shimano, who get blatant product placement. Sigh, Christmas is so commercial now, isn’t it? Oh well, this may not be the most impressive cycling video out there but, like your Christmas lights, you can pull it out once a year and enjoy the moment.
At least it doesn’t provoke the same “OMG, what performance-enhancing drug is he on?” reaction that this other power-generating video does. And based on how hard it was to toast a piece of bread, those must be pretty efficient Christmas lights Team Sky is using.
